Holstein and Jersey breeders can now access genomic based breeding values for cows (ABV(g)s).
Genomics enables farmers to better select cows from which to breed the next generation of replacements. Genotyping a cow now provides breeding values of similar reliability to having 20 - 30 daughters - more than most cows will have in their lifetime. Cow ABV(g) reports supply information for 40 production and non-production traits.
